2004 Convention Resolutions
Resolution No. 37
AMERICAN ECONOMY
WHEREAS, The economic growth of the 1990s has come to an abrupt halt, and we appear to have entered a recession of uncertain depth and duration. The nation’s manufacturing industry is in a deep and long-lasting crisis that has already cost us millions of good jobs.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, The Pennsylvania AFL-CIO believes that the tax system should be reformed so that corporations and the wealthy pay their fair share and the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO strongly opposes any further unwarranted tax cuts for the richest among us or for corporations.
