Are we ready? We must be.
Last night, Joe Biden accepted the Democratic nomination for President of the United States saying that he was looking to “labor unions… that built the United States of America as we know it.” The former Vice President told viewers “with great honor and humility, I accept this nomination,” and he vowed to rise above partisan politics to be “an American President,” during these trying times. “This is not a partisan moment; it is an American moment.”
“Having attended a number of conventions, I wasn’t sure the Democrats could make a virtual Convention exciting but they did.” Pennsylvania AFL-CIO President Rick Bloomingdale said. “The weeklong message of diversity and a vision for growing our main street economy and the inclusion of the labor movement as part of that vision was great to see and hear. Joe Biden’s message that even as he campaigns as a Democrat, he will be an American President was a terrific reminder that in the end we are not just Democrats, Independents and Republicans but Americans. Now the work begins to talk to register and get our Union Brothers and Sisters out to vote!”
Pennsylvania AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer, and Union Delegate, Frank Snyder reflected on his participation in this year’s virtual convention. “All the pomp and circumstance is through.” Snyder said, “Now the work begins. We are energized. Join us on the road to union cities. Where we will talk with members about electing candidates who will work for them and protect the rights of workers.”

“Love is more powerful than hate. Hope is more powerful than fear Light is more powerful than dark. This is our moment; this is our mission. This is a battle we will win and we’ll do it together. I promise you.” – Joe Biden
