Blair Bedford Central Labor Council Meeting

THE CENTRAL LABOR COUNCIL OF BLAIR AND BEDFORD COUNTIES MET VIRTUALLY ON THURSDAY NOVEMBER 12, 2020 AT 6 PM. THE ROLL CALL WAS TAKEN AND 13 MEMBERS WERE IN ATTENDANCE ON THE VERIZON CONFERENCE CALL . THE FINANCE REPORT WAS READ AND APPROVED ALONG WITH THE BILLS FOR NOVEMBER, ALL WERE APPROVED AS READ. JEFF WILLS GAVE A REPORT ON THE CONTRACT  NEGOTIATIONS AT USW 6521 LOGAN TOWNSHIP, NOT GOING VERY WELL SO FAR. STACEY MILLER GAVE A REPORT ON UPMC ALTOONA, DESCRIBING NO EMPTY BEDS AND 66  CASES OF COVID IN BEDS AT THE SITE.  PRESIDENT KUTZ GAVE A RUN DOWN OF THE EFFORT THAT WAS MADE BY OUR CLC , OVER 4000 CALLS WERE MADE AND 1900 LIT DROPS WERE MADE, A SOLID EFFORT AND WE JUST ELECTED THE MOST LABOR FRIENDLY PRESIDENT WE COULD HAVE EVER DREAMED OF ELECTING. MORE NEWS OF HIS EFFORTS TO HELP LABOR WILL BE FORTHCOMING.  A MOTION WAS MADE TO CANCEL OUR REGULAR CHRISTMAS MEETING AND MEET AGAIN IN JANUARY. I WOULD LIKE TO WISH EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU A SAFE AND BLESSED HOLIDAY SEASON!
